The Barstow Fire Protection District recently upgraded EMS services to better serve the community. Barstow Fire is now you Local Intermediate Life Support Level Provider.

 

What does this mean?

Barstow Fire is now able to better stabilize the patient for transport using the following techniques:

 

Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Pediatric Advanced Life Support

I.V. Therapy

Cardiac Monitoring

Defibrillation

Intubations

As well as care for the routine Medical/Trauma emergency.

 

Barstow Fire’s EMT’s will respond to a call for assistance, stabilize the patient as necessary and maintain patient care until a transporting Advanced Life Support Ambulance from Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus arrives at the scene.
